What to Expect
Acupuncture uses single-use, flexible, sterilized, disposable, stainless steel needles that are extremely thin, approximately the thickness of a few human hairs. Patients usually feel some senstion upon needle insertion, which can range from wamth to a tingling sensation. This usually subsides quickly.
Because acupuncture is a natural form of medicine, weekly treatment for at least 6 weeks is recommended, although a specific time frame will depend on the individual needs of the patient.
The first visit lasts approximately 90 minutes and consists of a complete health history, traditional Chinese diagnosis and a treatment.
Follow up treatments are between 45 and 60 minutes.
